Review: ‘Something Beautiful’ by Jamie McGuire

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4/5 stars

Blurb: ‘America Mason, a sassy undergrad at Eastern State University, is in love with a Maddox–Shepley Maddox. Unlike his cousins, Shepley is more lover than fighter, but a road trip to her parents’ home in Wichita, Kansas could mean the next step, or the end of everything.’

I am a huge fan of the ‘Beautiful’ series by Jamie McGuire and I can’t believe it took me so long to finally read this book.

In the book ‘Beautiful Disaster’ by Jamie McGuire, we were introduced to America as Abbey’s best friend and Shepley as Travis’ cousin. Now, in ‘Something beautiful’ we learn how America and Shepley started dating and how their relationship progressed. It spans the time from just before ‘Beautiful Disaster’ starts until sometime after Travis’ and Abbey’s wedding and the point of view keeps switching between America and Shepley.

The book is only a short novella and only covers important points in their relationship instead of being a full book. It would have helped to have little pointers on how much time has passed between some of the chapters, because sometimes there would be quite a big jump, but I still enjoyed reading about America and Shepley.
If you have read ‘Beautiful Disaster’ and/or ‘Walking Disaster’ already, you will enjoy this little read as well.
